An Army brat that started riding at 4 yrs of age at Ft. Sam Houston, TX. And the most cherished childhood memories living in Panama, Canal Zone in the 60’s are trail riding through the jungle, racing along the beach, swimming with the horses in the ocean, and showing Panamanian Bush Ponies (a local breed). The last bush pony Pam owned (El Sombra-“The Shadow” a 4 year old stallion) was purchased for a mere $100, from the back country who was only ridden to church on Sundays. Pam at 11 yrs old rode Sombra to many victories, winning at barrel racing, western and english pleasure and of course jumping. El Sombra remained in Panama and lived on into his late 20’s continuing to horseshow with the kids. Pam has showed hunters ever since.
