I few of us FHTAers caravaned (Barbie, Maureen, Keith, and I) up to Tallahassee to find out what this Mahan Farm was all about.  Joining us up in Tally were Dianne and Johanna We were delighted to spend the weekend there and enjoy the beautiful farm.  We arrived early on Friday to school the XC, and then relax before showing the next day.  Lindsay and Brett did a wonderful job setting up the course.

In spite of none of us competing at our best; Dianne, Maureen and Barbie all got dsq for going off course, Amanda had refusals at the scary ditch and Keith’s boy Ranger had a sore foot, it was a very fun weekend. It is great to have a new venue and Mahan Farm is a very nice one. We allowed to school the new xc fences on Friday and we all got refusals at the new scary ditches at first. The training level course was so fun, windy and handy and Tallahassee even has some elevation changes. Buddy and Barbie had some time faults which isn’t surprising given how twisty the course was but Bud loved the corner, the hay rack, all the pretty jumps which were beautifully decorated with flowers from a local nursery. The ribbons were the kind you hang on their necks and can do a victory lap with so we were all pretty bummed none of us got one. I really encourage members to try this place when they offer more events. Motels and groceries right near by… great place.  Next show is Oct 4th.
