Now that our new year has begun, I want to remind everyone to renew your membership so your qualifying scores will count toward year-end awards.  Organizers who want their shows sanctioned by FHTA need to renew ($20/year).  Being sanctioned by FHTA means more entries and  free advertising of your event – a plus for everyone!

I want to give you some dates to mark on your calendars – now that The Oaks of Lake City is up and running, we will have plenty of activities going on there in the future.

Friday, September 19th –  7:00 p.m.    Ride & Jam    Come ride in the lighted covered arena, bring a potluck dish, and an instrument to play (or just come to listen) and we will have a jam session of local musicians as well as ourselves.  Come enjoy an evening of riding, eating, and playing music.

Sunday, October 12th –  9:00 a.m.   Work Day at The Oaks.  We will be refurbishing the cross-country jumps, and preparing for the hunter pace in December.  Bring brushes, paint, tools.   We might even build a few more Tadpole fences.

Sunday, November 9  –  Open Schooling Day.  $20/FHTA members, $25 non-members.  We will have a stadium course set up, a dressage ring to practice in, and the cross-country jumps to school over.

Saturday, December 27th –  Hunter Pace –  (proceeds go to Haven Hospice).  We will offer jumping tracks and a 6-mile non-jumping trail class (enjoy the beautiful trails at The Oaks!).

Many more activities are in the works.  Organizers – if you have any more dates that need to go on our calendar for 2014, please get them to me and we will make sure they are posted ( FHTA Calendar  ).  This year will be over before we know it, and show season is starting up right now!
